WiFi Planning & Simulation
WiFi planned before it's installed
For larger homes and business installations, I can plan the WiFi network from your architectural drawings before installation begins. Walls, floors and building materials are included in the simulation so we can see how the WiFi signal is expected to travel through the building.
Example of a simulated WiFi installation. The access points are positioned to provide coverage across the floor while taking walls and building materials into account.
Why simulate WiFi coverage?
Putting an access point in the middle of every floor isn't necessarily the best solution. Concrete walls, reinforced floors, stairwells, glass and other building materials all affect the signal differently.
A simulation helps answer practical questions before installation:
- Where should the access points be installed?
- How many access points are actually needed?
- Are there likely to be weak areas?
- Will the garden, terrace or other outdoor areas be covered?
- Is there too much overlap between access points?
- Where should network cables be run?
From architectural plan to WiFi plan
I import your floor plans and model the relevant walls and building materials. I then position suitable access points and simulate their expected coverage.
The design can be adjusted before any cables are run or holes are drilled.
